210809 ~ Gathering of sorts

It's been awhile since I met this group of frens or rather comrades. Gotta know them through NDP 08. Actually, I wanna met up with my ex-neighbour but decided not to meet after some issues. It was also during this period, the host of this meet-up invited me to join them to celebrate somebody's 21st birthday.

At first, I was rather reluctant and she convinced me to go. I was late as usual and the venue was Mind Cafe at Prinsep Road. However, the game played when I arrived was rather boring and the only person that knew how to play was the birthday girl. Unfortunately, the birthday girl simply ignored the rest of our unwillingness to continue that game of hers for at least 1 hr. Hence, I suggested to play other games that enable the rest of us to play. In the end, we ended up playing Risk. BTW, there were 5 princesses (inclusive of the birthday girl) and 1 prince.

The staff didnt inform us that the extension of time. In the end, we had to fork out extra moolah and that included the treat to the birthday girl. However, the birthday girl walked off after the gathering without even bothered to thank everybody. How rude!

Managed to read an entry from her blog and it stated that she was sad coz nobody celebrated her birthday on the exact day. After reading her blog, I felt that there was not a hint of gratitude or thanks to those who had celebrated for her. It was more of we had to celebrate her birthday coz she thought she was important in our lives.Totally wrong and disgusting!

Honestly, I didnt have the intention to go home early as I reached the venue at 9pm and didnt disclose my plans after the gathering for the fear that the birthday girl would stick around. I was planning to walk around to another bus-stop to take a bus. In the end, C and I had our dialogue at McDonalds and this was the saving grace of the whole outing.

At my end, I thought we had a wonderful time in discussing many aspects of life, religions, etc. We ended the dialogue at 2am and decided to leave from there.

Frankly, I thought the whole gathering left a horrible aftertaste and wouldnt wanna meet up with her anymore. IMHO, I went to the gathering was for the company of the host and her friends. Perhaps, the birthday girl should wake up from her dream and stop being so self-centred.
