Some disgusting commuters

Do you have any unpleasant encounters of fellow commuters? I do have such encounters and it can be quite disgusting.

I know that male body is built differently as compared to female but this is not the excuse.

It seems like they have to open up their legs to parade their wares though the space is rather limited especially on bus and mrt. What I would normally do is to use my bag as a form of separator between me the male commuter or constantly move my body.

There are some who have no intention to 'share' their seats despite of the bus was crowded.

Here are the examples to illustrate the encounters. The first two pictures will show the usage of bags towards these male commuters. The last picture was a Chinese national's shopping bag was occupying the seat instead of the floor.

While I was travelling to Bugis, this elderly man who was fatter than me and was seated by the window. His legs and bum had overflowed to my seat.

Here is another picture while I was on my way to town and there was another male commuter who was talking to his friends.

The last picture was a Chinese national's shopping bag occupied part of the seat. Hence, the other person was deprived of space though the bus was rather crowded. Had decided to shift to an empty seat once I found one.

Not a good day

Went out to meet SL but was encountered by people who seemed to be swinging or leaning their heads towards me. It seemed like I'm a magnet for such things and it seemed like guys would do this. What I would do is to elbow the guys who did the above to make sure that they knew that they had went beyond their boundaries.

I'm tired, too and would like to have a pleasant ride while commuting in a train. But if you decide to fall asleep in the train, try not to be a nuisance to the other commuters.

While I was on my way back, there were 2 ladies who were so engrossed in their conversations that their hand gestures kept hitting me without apologising. It seemed that that particular group of people are well known to be obnoxious and demanding. So frustrating.

Another incident that happened on another day was when I witnessed an auntie who tried to grab a seat in a packed train regardless the distance from her or the cramped area around her. Saw her almost fell from grabbing a seat beside mine and accidentally stepped on the foot of a group of school girls standing in front of me. When I left for my stop, I saw her rushing to my seat even though she was at another corner.

Really wonder why some people behave like that.

Are you pretending to sleep?

Do you have instances when you are so tired and have a nap? Then you are awaken by a commuter's action?

These are always happening to me especially when you are travelling from one end of the island to the other end. Sometimes, I do fall asleep and then to be awaken by some oblivious commuters who sit so hard that the seat just bump you off. I always shoot the other person a nasty glare. Come on, is your bum so heavy that you have to use your whole body weight to sit down? I really hate it!

Other peeves include when a 'fat' commuter who knows that the seat gap is narrow and still wanna sit. I was like very disgusted especially when their bum sizes are bigger than the seat. Or rather they think that they are the 'missing' puzzle of the empty seat. How inconvenient is that!

Another is the commuters tend to 'lose control' of their heads when they are fast asleep. Their heads tend to land on the nearest shoulder to rest and these commuters are normally males and foreign workers. Is it they think that a female commuter will not make noise? Apparently, they pick the wrong person as I will 'elbow' them back.

Recently, there was a case of a woman being molested by a foreign worker. This woman actually made sure that the worker got similar attention that he was giving her by dragging him out of the train and getting him nabbed by the police. You go, girl! Admire your courage.

Dont get me wrong for sounding like being a discriminating Bxxxx towards foreign workers. Yes, I understand they helped to fill in those jobs that my fellow countrymen refused to do. However, I do feel uncomfortable and insecure whenever I encounter them. They tend to stare at women lots. Perhaps, women in their countries are being placed and compared to almost nothing.

Being a woman in a liberal country, there are almost no dressing restrictions and most of us do receive education. Perhaps, these also reflected on the way we dressed. Some of these foreign workers do go to Sentosa to have a visual feast on women in bikinis and have it taped. Can you imagine? Yucks!

Words to the government :
I do understand these group of workers are important for certain industries and not all of them are necessary bad. From where these workers come from (eg villages), they may not have seen women being liberally dressed.

Hence, there is a CULTURE SHOCK. Besides being separated from their families, they have unsatisfied sexual needs. In the end, they resorted to molesting or raping thinking that this is free as compared to visiting the professionals as they will remain scot-free thinking that the women here will not complain.

I also bet the government does not know these people littered the grounds that they have gathered every weekend and urine around any dark places. To put it simply, there is no way to contain them in a designated area (an area that you think you have make improvements on and rave about it), coz they will still roam everywhere and make a mess in everything.

I think we should restrict the number of these workers coming in and some of them even planning to establish their families here coz of our 'excellent' education as well as her security. We are getting more populated with immigrants and the whole new wave of immigrants has already started. Called me narrow-minded. Soon, these will be your new 'citizens'. As for your 'original' citizens, they will leave the country and not be back ever or they will stay to compete the death battle coz they have money or nowhere else to go.
