A researcher's folly

H1N1 is currently on widespread invasion and shouldnt be called 'swine flu'. I do know this is boring news coz it's now a pandemic.

What made me angry was a German researcher confessed that he went about his normal activities such as shopping and concert when he returned from US though he had showed no signs of infection. That's very irresponsible and stupid!

In the article that I read today (Today, Thursday 18 June), he claimed that he would never deliberately expose other people to risk of infection and would like to apologise for all the trouble that had resulted from his infection.

In my humble opinion, he should exercise his wisdom to isolate himself coz he's researcher from Biopolis. OMG! Not an ordinary Joe on the street but a researcher. Someone with a scientific background.

Where's your common sense in terms of isolating yourself? Dun you know that you have visited an infected area? You gotta be kidding me. Have you lose your mind? How could you not know that symptoms willnt appear till much later especially when you were travelling in an infected area? Think Aids. Symptoms willnt appear till a decade later. Hey, exercise some wisdom will you?

I'm very disgusted by his actions for the fact he showed no signs / symptoms of H1N1, he went about his normal activities. Maybe, you may have passed me by. The thought of it makes me sick. My gf did isolated herself when she went to The State last month. Talk about responsibility.
I really dont appreciate your apologies coz the harm that you have caused is too much and too late to handle and it didnt help the fact that you are a Biopolis researcher. It just came too late and you shouldnt have rebutted coz you are viewed as irresponsible and inconsiderate.

PS : It really irks me when peps cough with their mouths uncovered and the bacteria lingering in a confined space. It's very annoying and what's wrong to wear a mask when you are sick.
