Waken by a call from SRT to go out for lunch. Obviously, I was late to meet up with her. However, we didnt make an arrangement of the actual venue to meet though we had agreed to meet at Paragon.
When I reached there, she's nowhere in sight. But somebody's eyes met me not once but twice. He's the partner of a SME whose owner is a foreigner and it was an experience that I would rather forget. This stint was introduced by RC.
Ok, I still couldnt locate her. Tried to contact her again through her hp. It rang and went dead later. Went through the whole building from level 1 to level 5. There was no sight of her. Tried to contact her through her residential number a couple of times. However, it turned out to be the wrong number. Then tried to scroll down the numbers and finally managed to reach her residential number.
Later, she mentioned that she had lost her hp in a cab while she was on her way there. The only number she recalled was her hubby's.
In the end, we met up for a brief moment to pass me her stuff. Well, at least we met and it's all that matters.
Well, this may be my assumption but I feel that greed is the root of evil and honesty has vanished. The person who found the phone turned off the phone immediately after a few calls. Hence, he/she could've pocketed it.
Can the person imagine if the call is a matter of life and death and the intended caller couldnt locate the loved ones when in times of emergency? Why people simply dont believe in honesty anymore? Greed has driven this person to pocket the hp. No doubt that the phone will be returned to my gf.
It's not the money spent on the phone but the info and one's life precious and priceless moments are in that phone. Worse, my gf couldnt remember the taxi plate number and the taxi company.
All of us have developed certain attachments to the material things that we've resorted certain means to attain the coveted items that are deemed desires. The other thing is we've relied modern technology store information and most of us dont remember most of the numbers in phone directory. It's sad but true.
PS : For the person who 'pocketed' the phone, do take note that what goes around comes around coz what you've done is a cause. An effect will take place. Remember Sir Issac Newton's laws of physics, every action has an equal and opposite reaction.
